Sydney was born and raised locally in West Vancouver and grew up always knowing she might want to become a dentist, just like her father and great grandfather. Sydney received her Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours) in Biology at Queen’s University and further specialized in Marine Biology through programs at the Bamfield Marine Science Centre. Following this, she went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne in Australia. After 4 wonderful years down under, Sydney made the move back to Vancouver to be closer to family, friends and of course the mountains! Sydney is ecstatic to be practising in North Vancouver, close to where she grew up and in a community she has always called home.
Sydney is very passionate about all aspects of general and family dentistry, performing a wide range of clinical procedures. These include oral surgery, endodontics (root canals and root canal retreatments), cosmetic dentistry, restorative procedures, paediatrics and emergency/trauma care. However, Sydney’s favourite part of the job is interacting with patients and staff to create meaningful relationships built on support and trust. Her main focus is on creating a positive environment for all staff and patients to feel comfortable and taken care of, we are more than just a clinic but a chose family.
When Sydney is not at the office you might see her shredding the gnar at a local mountain or Whistler, learning to play tennis (well TRYING to learn), spending time with her family dog or checking out new cafes (let her know if you have any recommendations!).
Mike is a 1988 graduate of the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry and
dedicates himself to full time private practice in North Vancouver, BC with a focus on
preventive and restorative dentistry for people of all ages.
Committed to maintaining the highest standards of dental care, Mike is very active in
continuing education and the dental community. His paramount belief is to never stop
learning. Whether it’s through courses, study clubs or professional interactions, Mike’s
excitement towards dentistry is as great today as it was the day he started in the
profession. He sincerely believes that having the opportunity to affect positive change in
a person’s life has been a source of great personal and professional satisfaction, and
reinforces the importance of dentistry in overall health.
In addition to enjoying family life with wife, Tracey and two children, Sophie and Cooper,
Mike enjoys golf, skiing, biking, traveling and food. He has even been known to wander
into the kitchen to cook a meal or two, much to the delight of Tracey.
Sonia’s versatility and extensive experience in all facets of dentistry allow her to function in several roles that are important to your care. Whether scheduling appointments or helping with insurance and financial questions, she combines her passion for people and dentistry to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible. She is always happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your dental treatment, appointments, or any other inquiries.
Outside of the office, Sonia enjoys spending time in the kitchen trying new recipes, tending to her garden, and making the most of quality time with her family. She values creating a warm and welcoming environment both at home and in the practice, and her caring nature shines through in everything she does.
Melanie strives to make sure your visit is as comfortable as possible. Melanie possesses a wide and varied scope of abilities including experience in prosthodontics and periodontics specialties that allow patients to benefit from her 20 years of expertise. She is available to answer any questions you may have regarding your dental treatment, appointments or any other inquiries. Melanie is a former professional mountain biker and in her spare time continues to enjoy her outdoor activities of mountain biking, adventure racing, hiking and gardening.
Kelly is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene. After growing up in Prince George, she is so happy to be settled into her life in Vancouver. As a hygienist, Kelly strives to provide her patients with gentle and thorough care while also implementing individual care programs based on their specific needs. Her easy going personality makes everyone feel more at ease and comfortable when they come in for their hygiene visits. When Kelly isn’t at work she loves to go to the gym, find new places to camp, ride her bike to Granville Island, or try a new recipe.
Julia is a graduate from Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene. Originally from Coquitlam, she presently lives on the North Shore, a place she now calls home. As a healthcare professional, Julia provides patients with gentle, effective and individualized care. She strives to bring patients to their optimal oral health with a relaxed and empathetic approach while assisting them in their oral health goals. When not in the office Julia can be found spending time with family and friends or doing a puzzle at home with her husband and cat. She enjoys baking, travelling, a glass of wine and experiencing the beautiful outdoors of Vancouver.
Laura is a graduate of the Camosun College Dental Hygiene program in Victoria, and enjoys using her clinical skills to ensure lifelong dental health. Her primary role is in evaluating and helping you improve your periodontal health by implementing an individualized care program based on your specific needs. Her keen interest in periodontics and desire to expand her knowledge of dentistry and technology are key assets in her role in helping you to optimal oral health. Laura enjoys running, golf and spending time with family as well as participating in the odd hockey pool when the men don’t feel threatened by her hockey expertise.
